at the motherfucking BOOK FAIR
I seriously miss the book fair.
Wait, you mean these don’t exist anymore?
We even had them in Pakistan and they were a big hit.
Oh the good old days
The first sip of tea is always the hardest.
that isn’t supposed to be inspirational, I’m just stating it’s fucking nerve-racking waiting for it to touch your lips and potentially having it melt your face off
me: hi how are you today?
customer: JUST LOOKING.
I love my skin!Do you all understand how important this is? Do you? So many dark skinned girls will look at this—or have seen this and will feel, even if by a little, better about themselves. Sometimes all a kid needs is validation from someone who is just a little bit like them in some way or form (you know that word “representation”?) so they can easily believe and SEE they, too, can get to that level of whatever in their life. In this case a girl can say, “hey she’s dark like me and loves her skin. I can too!” It’s one thing for someone in their everyday life to shower them with love and assurance that they’re fine in the skin they’re in, but it’s another thing to actually bare witness to it in the media you consume. It’s not just your mom being nice to you. The world thinks you’re fine the way you are too. This is so important. They need to see women like this everywhere. They need to see themselves saying they love what society says they should hate. They NEED, TO,SEE, THIS. It’s revolutionary to say you love what you got and didn’t ask for despite the world telling you otherwise. So bless Sesame Street, man. The Whip My Hair bit from Willow and now the loving your skin color bit with Lupita makes them a SUPER important children’s program.
it’s been years since i’ve first seen this comic and i still think it has one of the best punchline delivers of anything i’ve ever seen
Russian Space Hotel Interior
Darren Hunt of Utah
The murder of young Black Men by police continues.
oh for fucks SAKE
Y’all he was shot in the back…. HE WAS SHOT IN THE BACK…
He was carrying a sword? This mf in my geography class carried a sword to class everyday and when I expressed my discomfort it was dismissed. But this brotha was shot in the back.
and it was a blunted sword.. couldn’t have cut anybody… but white people walking around with loaded rifles in target…
Exactly! This is evil.
Damn. Niggas can’t even cosplay anymore? I would love to see the cosplay community say something about this but that definitely won’t happen
Also: this paper is edited by a clown. It should’ve been in the first fucking paragraph that this dude was cosplaying. I’m reading this shit wondering why the fuck this negro is walking down the street with a sword and obvious answer is hidden almost at the en of the article.
This dude was cosplaying.
He was dressed up in a costume.
Should all black people just stay home on Halloween this year?
Friendly reminder that the police shot a black cosplayer in the back
(( I am a cosplayer in Utah. This horrible occurrence happened a few towns over from where I live. Darren Hunt -was- cosplaying when he was shot. Does the news mention this? No.
This is a photo of what Darren was wearing, it was snapped moments before he was shot:
It looks to me like he was cosplaying Samurai Champloo. And according to his family, the sword he was carrying was a decorative art piece, it was a prop!
I want to know how much of a threat a cosplayer could have been, with a prop sword, who was shot in the back? The police claim he lunged at them with the sword. Lunging requires a forward facing motion. So, why was he shot in the back? This is not okay! ))
